Quinton Football Club
UPDATE The shocking weather has meant that little football was played around the Christmas period, and also since. Quinton Football Club are at the wrong end of the table in Division 1, but a couple of wins have put us back to the pack. The Reserves have gone from strength to strength, winning 8 on the bounce, before the wheels came off against leaders Tysoe. Charity Fixture Although the Annual Boxing Day Football Match was not played on the pitch, a substitute offering took place on the Village Green. A highly competitive four a side fixture was played, with the coloureds just coming out winners. A raffle will take place at a later date, to raise funds for the Downs Syndrome Association, and further events will help swell the coffers. CZECH TOUR 2011 We travel to our friends in the Czech Rebublic, during the Easter weekend, twenty plus members making the trip. An extra day has been added to the trip, to incorporate the'stag party' of Alex Pearson. A good time will almost certainly be had by one and all.
Back to top... A frustrating time of the season, with snow and ice keeping games to a minimum before Christmas, and wet conditions limiting them after. The first team have had an unsettled time, not regularly turning out the same team two weeks running, there results reflecting this problem. A couple of wins have given us more belief. The Reserves have had a glorious run, winning 8 on the bounce, leaving them top of the table for a while. Unfortunately Division 3 leaders Tysoe put us firmly in our place, but we need to re-group and finish the season on a high. The Race Night will be held in Quinton Village Hall, on Saturday 26th March at 7.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. This promises to be another great family fun night out, with 6 horses vying for good prize money, over a course set out in the hall.
All Saturday matches KICK-OFF at 2.00pm. Back to top...
